Leiden Oxford Transplantation Summer School (LOTS)

The Leiden Oxford Transplantation Summer School, LOTS, is a collaboration between the University of Leiden and Oxford. This 3 day international summer course about solid organ transplantation is primarily open for bachelor (bio)medical students, but master students are also welcome to apply. 

Why this Summer School?

This course offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading academics and experts in the field of Organ Transplantation. The lectures and workshops are combined with small group assignments and debates about clinical transplant cases. The course also offers plenty of opportunities to network with fellow students from all over the world and teaching staff from Leiden University Medical Center and University of Oxford.

Course information

The programme exists of interactive lectures, patient interviews, small group assignments and games about clinical transplant cases. Every group will present a proposal for scientific innovation to improve the outcome for transplant recipients.

Who can apply?

LOTS is open to all international students! The summer school is primarily open for bachelor (bio)medical students, but master students are also welcome to apply. Also, students with a different background are welcome to send us their application! The working language during LOTS is English. 

Applications for the LOTS summerschool 2025 can be made by filling in the following application form, accompanied by a 2 page CV, and send this before April 30th to LOTS@lumc.nl.

The number of places is limited. After you send in your application, you will hear if you are selected to join LOTS in May.

Fee

The fee for participants will be 100 euros to cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Mandatory MOOC Clinical Kidney Transplantation

If you are selected to participate, we will ask you to finish the free online MOOC course about Clinical Kidney Transplantation before the 1st of July 2025 as a mandatory preparation for the course. You can find the course here.
